Another historical event in classic Chris Craft boating !

2010 UPDATE

This web site was formerly dedicated and personally funded to support the Huron Chris Craft Commander Rendezvous of 2008 and 2009, and it has been modified on an interim basis until it can be focused on another exciting event for 2010.  The site is deactivated due to the fact that the two other organizers of this event have advised they are moving from the Chris Craft Commander Forum, Inc. as the co-organizer, prime sponsor, financial contributor, and promotions/communication medium for the rendezvous at Huron, Ohio, to another entity for the 2010 event;
from whom there has been no contact and we trust all is well.
We're excited about seeing the photos and reading about all the fun,
because we know the event will be a smashing
success again this year!

While we are a little sad not to be involved again in 2010, it was a very expensive endeavor, personally, it consumed many months of coordination and promotion time, and now we're
able to focus attention and resources on something new, and that is always exciting !

We are looking ahead to contributing to other venues this year,
including the 2010 ACBS Annual Meeting at Traverse City, Michigan,
and the Chris Craft Rendezvous, Pacific Northwest.
These are two fabulous opportunities to "have fun and share information",
which is our motto, by the way, and the reason The Chris Craft Commander Forum, Inc. exists in the first place.  There are lots of Commanders in these areas and we're looking forward to photographing them and publishing the images too!
Stay tuned!

After two wonderful years at Huron, we've photographed most of the boats two or three times already, met most of the people, and published thousands of photo images on The Forum website for all to enjoy.  While we would always enjoy seeing those boats
(and especially the people) again, and hope to soon, we are excited about new
horizions and developing new associations, seeing new boats, meeting new people.
It's all good, there are plenty of boats and events for everyone.

Since this 4-page multi-linked web site is complex and took a lot of time to set up, it has been
partially deactivated and mothballed as you see here, in order to save the basic chassis
for efficient re-use in promoting those future events noted above.

Although "The Forum" is threfore no longer involved with the Huron event, we sincerely wish Matt, Tim, and all who attend, and all who are involved with the event in 2010 the
very best.  We know it will be a great success because there is a lot of good
momentum and good-will from the last two years upon which to build.   The location
on Lake Erie is a lot of fun, there are many wonderful boats in the area,
Commanders are maintained to a high standard there,
and I can tell you personally the people are VERY nice !!

My involvement in 2008 and 2009 was richly rewarding for me personally, and it brought me in contact with a lot of people like Herb Pocklington and Chris Smith during the early planning stages, both of whom eventually accepted my personal inviation to attend the event as guest speakers in 2009.  It also brought me in contact with many other wonderful people,
forging many lasting friendships, and for that I will be forever greatful.

My Dad and I both hope to see all of you again sometime in the near future.

Sincerely,

Paul Pletcher
